Getting back into my PCOS blog

Life has been tough recently.
One of the common symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome is anxiety and I have been dealing with panic disorder accompanied by health anxiety over the past few months. This has been a big blow to me; I've always been an outgoing, confident and pretty carefree person. To all of a sudden start to feel anxious about having random panic attacks and feeling unable to have control over my health has been very overwhelming.
I decided to take a step back from documenting my PCOS journey; you might have noticed that I've not been active on my social media, youtube or on my blog. Sometimes you really need to just do what is best for you, and I felt that stepping away from documenting my PCOS journey was the right thing to do for me.
I've been thinking about coming back to my blog for a couple of weeks now, the fact that I'm thinking about it again makes me feel happy because I truly do enjoy documenting my personal journey and hearing about your own journeys with PCOS too!
I'm not committing to being back, but I'm starting with this post and seeing how it goes!
How I'm moving forward
As a said in my intro, it's been a difficult time for me on a personal level but I do feel like a lot of people are in the same boat - with the uncertainty of the world around us, it's difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I know it is there!
This all started for me a while back, but really came to the forefront around June time - health anxiety is really tough to deal with, even more so in the current climate with COVID-19 being in the news every 5 seconds, it's sometimes hard to get out of the negative train of thought. I have started going to CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) so that I can understand what is going on and start to get a hold of it. I feel like since I've been going, I am starting to understand my thought process better!
A message to my anxious Cysters
If you're feeling the same as me, speak about it! I'm so fortunate that I have the support of so many loving people around me and have got access to the help I need. If you're struggling with your own mental wellbeing, there are a number of fantastic organisations that can help you. A quick google of mental health services in your area will bring up a number of free phone lines or book in to speak to your doctor about how you're feeling - don't suffer in silence!
See you next time
I hope you found this blog post useful - as I said before, I'm not committing to being back but I'm making a start. If you'd like to follow my journey, don't forget to subscribe to my blog and you can follow along on my YouTube channel and other socials (I'll put the links below)
See you in my next post!
Megs xx
